Everybody grew up wanting to be like their parents. I didn’t. They didn’t teach me what I want to be, they taught me everything I hope I’ll never turn out to be.
My watch says 7 am and my body screams at me to sleep. I shut my eyes but it does not keep out the hushed voices screaming at each other outside these four walls. In my head a chant is given momentum, “please sleep, please sleep, please fall back to sleep.“
