Rag and Bone Men

I hope you never become one of us. I hope you never have to think too deeply of things to find their underlying meanings, or to know the side of the world everybody is clamouring to get out of. I hope you take things in stride. I hope you retain that naiviety in you. I hope you never have to lose whole chunks of yourself only to gain those discarded from others. A writer isn’t a piece of art; it is the makings of scrap metals and the healing of infected cuts. Don’t be fooled by the lovely writings we create — they are simply products from years of being misunderstood.

“Flannery O’Conner said nothing needed to happen in a writer’s life after they were 20. By then they’d experienced more than enough to last their creative life.” – Stuck In Love
