Traffic

|| Noun ||

Sometimes the world may be a little kinder

The roads a little less rough

The incoming traffic a little slower

The crash a little more bluff

But like money lenders we take in interest

Feeling as though the world owe us a little more

And when the crash turns out nastier

Like borrowers we pay in doubled rancor

Ungratefulness may be the bane of our existence

Softness even more so

When we get dealed double

We let the world puppeteer us to and fro

Sometimes you just have to bite the hand that feeds you

Pick that scissors and buy a ticket out

Or the traffic will sweep you up in its currents

Before you have the chance to copout

– a.h.

The journey may have started out smooth-sailing, but the weather doesn’t always stay the same. You better toughen up before the world does it for you because you have no one else to blame but yourself for being in permanent delusion.

” Life changes fast. Life changes in the instant. You sit down to dinner and life as you know it ends. ” – The Year Of Magical Thinking, Joan Didion
